Global Hope for Forced Migrants, a refugee-led organization, provides life skills training including tailoring, making reusable sanitary materials, soap making, tie and dye, financial literacy, and group savings programs. These important activities aim to empower displaced communities and change life, fostering resilience, self-reliance, and emotional healing for individuals affected by forced migration.
Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services
Global Hope for Forced Migrants understands the importance of mental health and psychosocial support, especially for individuals who have experienced forced migration. That is why we offer a comprehensive range of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services (MHPSS), which includes individual and communities therapeutic support and resilience group programs.
Psychosocial Support Services (MHPSS) trainings
Global Hope for Forced Migrants conducts Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services (MHPSS) through basic trainings such as MHPSS Peer Helpers’ Training. These trainings equip individuals within displaced communities with the knowledge, skills, and tools needed to provide effective support and assistance to their peers facing mental health challenges.
Agribusiness
Understanding the importance of sustainable livelihoods of the community, Hope for Forced Migrants provides training in agribusiness. Women are equipped with the skills needed to cultivate green vegetables on small plots allocated by the Office of the Prime Minister. This initiative not only encourages self-sufficiency in terms of food production but also enables women to sell surplus produce, contributing to their economic stability
Financial Literacy
Financial literacy programs offered by Hope for Forced Migrants go beyond traditional education. The organization focuses on teaching women and girls saving and basic business skills, including bookkeeping and VSLA to enhance their ability to manage small businesses . This not only contributes to the economic empowerment of women BUT also fosters a culture of financial responsibility and independence within the community.
Tailoring workshop
Global Hope for Forced Migrants undertakes the responsibility of addressing the housing needs of refugees. The organization mobilizes community members to collect local raw materials, fostering a sense of communal ownership and collaboration. By utilizing locally materials, the sustainability but also ensures that refugees have safe and adequate shelter, addressing aspect of their well-being.
