Our activities
Income generating Activities
Global Hope for Forced Migrants provides life skills training to women and school dropout girls and boys such as tailoring, making reusable sanitary materials, soap making, tie and dye, financial literacy, and group savings programs. These different activities aim to empower the displaced women and girls to overcome poverty, fostering resilience and self-reliance.
Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services
Global Hope for Forced Migrants provides a comprehensive range of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services (MHPSS) to individuals who have symptoms of trauma and other mental health challenges. Our services include Individual Therapeutic Support Sessions, Resilience group Programs using Self-Help plus+ (SH+) model and other initiatives tailored for both youths and adults. We are committed to promoting psychological well-being, emotional healing and resilience
Psychosocial Support Services (MHPSS) trainings
Global Hope for Forced Migrants conducts Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services (MHPSS) trainings, including basic training programs such as MHPSS Peer Helpers’ Training. These trainings equip individuals within displaced communities with basic skills, and tools needed to provide basic peer counseling and referral pathways for further mental health services
Community Livelihood Program
Around 81% of refugees in Uganda are women and children. Many of these women are widowed by wars, victims of sexual violence and many live in poor shelters LIVELIHOOD PROGRAM supports them in building shelters using local materials and initiating income generating activities.
